Abstract: Many Chinese companies have launched more than 1,000 unmanned delivery vehicles.
Unmanned delivery has always been one of the important scenarios for the application of low-speed driverless driving technology. In recent years, with the vigorous development of e-commerce, new retail, community group buying and other industries, the scale of the urban distribution market has continued to expand, and the implementation of unmanned delivery vehicles has accelerated. The “2023-2024 China Low-speed Autonomous Driving Industry Development Research Report” points out that among my country’s various functional subdivision scenarios in 2023, terminal unmanned delivery will have the largest year-on-year growth, with sales increasing by 260% year-on-year.
Especially this year, we have received strong policy support and legislative guarantees. The fourth meeting of the Central Financial and Economic Commission held at the beginning of the year clearly stated that it would clear up congestion points, improve the modern commercial and trade circulation system, and encourage the development of new logistics models that combine platform economy, low-altitude economy, unmanned economy, etc.; officially on May 1 The effective “Hangzhou Intelligent Connected Vehicle Testing and Application Promotion Regulations” is a local regulation that allows functional unmanned vehicles, including unmanned delivery vehicles, to be “lawfully followed” on the road. It also provides a legal basis for unmanned delivery vehicles. A window has opened for large-scale commercial use.
The industry believes that 2024 will be the first year when the scale of unmanned delivery will truly explode. Since this year, many unmanned delivery vehicle companies have “showed off” their “report cards” of the implementation of their own unmanned delivery vehicles across the country, many of which have more than 1,000 units. Nearly 6,000 unmanned delivery vehicles have been launched in China!
