Recently, humanoid robot developer Accelerated Evolution recently completed a new round of financing. This round of financing was completed by a joint investment from Shuimu Venture Capital, Yingang Capital, and Source Code Capital. Zhencheng Investment participated in the seed round of financing at the end of 2023.
Accelerated Evolution (full name: Beijing Accelerated Evolution Technology Co., Ltd.) was established in June 2023. Since its establishment, it has been committed to developing humanoid robot bodies with more mobile capabilities and easy-to-develop operation control development platforms.
Cheng Hao, founder and CEO of Accelerated Evolution, holds a bachelor’s degree from Tsinghua University and has been deeply involved in robotics research under the guidance of Professor Zhao Mingguo. After graduation, Cheng Hao founded Zhaoxiguangnian, which was later acquired by ByteDance. (Zhencheng Investment led Chaoxiguangnian’s Pre-A round of financing in 2017 and completed its overall exit three months later).
After leaving Bytedance, Cheng Hao founded Accelerated Evolution Company. According to Cheng Hao, the founding vision of Accelerated Evolution is to create advanced humanoid robot products, provide the developer community with stable and reliable humanoid robots and efficient development tools, and accelerate ” The application and popularization of “embodied intelligence” technology has made humanoid robots popular in all walks of life and even in thousands of households.
In terms of the core team, Professor Zhao Mingguo, chief scientist of Accelerated Evolution, is a researcher in the Department of Automation at Tsinghua University and the director of the Robot Control Laboratory and the Center for Brain-inspired Robots at the Center for Unmanned Systems. His research results have appeared on the cover of Nature magazine and he has developed a number of humanoid robots.
The core team members of Accelerated Evolution also come from Tsinghua Robot Control Laboratory and Tsinghua Vulcan Football Team. They have accumulated technology in the field of humanoid robots for more than 20 years and are one of the few teams in China that can forward-design humanoid robots.
